Viljandi’s Sakala Centrum will host a series of cultural events throughout August, offering a diverse range of performances and exhibitions. On Thursday, August 24th, the Sakala Centrum will screen the horror film “Demeter’s Last Voyage” at 9:00 PM. Additionally, “Viljandi’s Land: Jaan” performance will commence at 7:00 PM, followed by a concert featuring Allan Jakobi and Erkki Otsmani’s “Shanks and tango” at the Abja cultural center at 11:30 AM, with an admission fee of 5 euros. The Abja cultural center will also host a free performance by the international chamber orchestra Baltic Tremolo and various formations on August 25th at 7:00 PM. Screenings of “Brave son of a whale,” “Barbie,” “Cat’s life,” and “Cat’s love” are scheduled for August 25th at 11:20 AM, 11:30 AM, 13:20 PM, and 14:00 PM, respectively, with an admission fee of 5 euros. The Baltic Tremolo will perform again at 15:30 PM on the same day. Further events include a screening of “Julge whale son” at Pärnu maantee 28, Abja-Paluoja at 7:00 PM on August 25th, and “Human as a machine. Portraits of a mechanical person” in Loviisa Tala (Finland) at 9:00 PM. Exhibitions by German artist Michael Golz (“Athosland”) and Diana Tamane (“Poolarmastus”) will be open at the Sakala cultural center in Viljandi. Tiia Järvpõllu’s exhibition “Suvevärvide helinad” will be displayed at the Karksi-Nuia cultural center first floor hall from August 31st, and Raido Reinsalu’s photographic exhibition “Asiatic life” will be showcased on the second floor hall of the Sakala cultural center.
