Estonian Pharmacies Report Record Turnover in 2025

Estonian pharmacies experienced a significant surge in sales during 2025, totaling 641 million euros in turnover. This represents a record for the country, according to data released on March 9, 2026. General pharmacies saw an 8% increase in turnover compared to 2024, driven by a 10% rise in overall medicine sales.

Prescription medicines accounted for a 11% increase in turnover, while over-the-counter medications saw a 6% increase. Sales of other goods within the pharmacies rose by 3%. As of 2025, there were 497 general pharmacies and 25 hospital pharmacies operating within Estonia.

Hospital pharmacies also reported growth, with a 7% increase in total turnover. Medicine turnover within hospital pharmacies rose by 9%, while the turnover of other goods decreased by 1%. The data reflects a sustained demand for pharmaceutical products within Estonia.

The figures highlight the continued importance of pharmacies as key providers of healthcare products and services. The total number of pharmacies operating in 2025 was 497 general and 25 hospital pharmacies.
