Erika Salumäe Defends Henry and Tõnis Sildarut Against External Criticism

Freestyle skiing Olympic medalist Erika Salumäe has voiced her support for Henry and Tõnis Sildaru. In a social media post, Salumäe addressed concerns surrounding the pair, stating that external negativity should not be a primary focus. Salumäe, a former two-time bobsleigh Olympic champion, wrote, “Henry and Tõnis, you have demonstrated that your journey in elite sport is progressing correctly.

Do not engage with rumors and actions that impede your ascent to the highest level of the Olympics.” She encouraged the pair to maintain a positive direction, suggesting that external negativity is often a reflection of the source’s concerns. “Everyday good and positive direction should be your motto,” Salumäe stated. “Anything negative coming from outside does not need to be your concern, as in that sense it is the problem of that person or those people.

Henry, it should not affect you and try to learn to remain, in effect, only negative. Keep your warmth and stay yourself. Henry, I know you have even more one and great goal and try to focus only on it.” Salumäe expressed her wish for their continued success and resilience.

  1. “It’s disheartening to see athletes subjected to such unwarranted criticism when they’ve clearly dedicated themselves to their sport.”
