Major Martten Viitmaa, a former student at Paide high school and a participant in regional singing competitions, reported a notably quiet atmosphere during the initial kilometers of the final march of the soldier’s basic course at the Pioneer Battalion on Wednesday. Viitmaa, who completed eight weeks of training, stated, “We are in our thoughts.” He offered the comment from an undisclosed location during the course’s final stages.
