Pärnu, Estonia – Mathias Vetkin, an 11-year-old motorcycle racer, secured a silver medal in the European Junior Championship Supermoto season standings. The final World Motorcycle Championship (MMi) and European Championship (EMi) events were held in Carole, France, where Vetkin achieved second and third place finishes. “The French competition was particularly challenging this year, with final speeds exceeding 130 kilometers per hour and featuring three off-road sections,” stated Sven Vetkin, Mathias’s father, via sports media.

“The competition was intense.”

Matej Kokes of the Czech Republic earned the gold medal, accumulating 239 points. Vetkin finished second with 221 points, followed by Ramon Godino of Spain with 201 points. Rasmus Ebelmann, another Estonian competitor, did not qualify for the medal positions with 178 points.

A total of 21 young racers earned points throughout the year. Vetkin’s team focused on familiarizing themselves with the tracks and practicing at high speeds in preparation for the following year.
