Colombia began voting Sunday in parliamentary elections that will shape President Gustavo Petro’s final months in office and indicate whether the former dominant right wingers are prepared for a political return. Approximately 40 million voters are choosing from nearly 300 legislators. The outcome will determine the composition of the congress and provide a significant assessment of the political landscape just weeks before the May presidential elections.
