Economist Boris Kirt reports that Elektrilevi and Elering, two major energy companies, are planning to increase network fees, potentially impacting consumer costs. Despite existing network fees already accounting for 43 percent of electricity payments, the companies intend to further expand this share. Elektrilevi’s network fee, set to increase by 2.6 percent and taking effect August 1, 2025, has already received approval from the competition authority on April 22, 2025. This adjustment will raise the monthly network fee for a standard flat rate to 0.08 euros and for a detached house to 0.30 euros, excluding VAT.
