The Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAFF) initiated a vaccination program targeting wild animals against rabies on Monday. The operation commenced within a 50-kilometer radius of the Russian border and 30 kilometers from the Narva River in the Ida-Viru region. Minister of Environment and Health and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Madis Kallas, and Peep Peterson announced the initiative. Small aircraft are being utilized to distribute the rabies vaccine across the Ida-Viru region, subsequently expanding to the South and Southeast regions of Estonia. The vaccination efforts are focused on areas outside of urban centers, settlements, roadways, bodies of water, and locations housing livestock.
