According to a recent investigation by Aleksei and Marcus Turovski, the question of the “smartest animal in the world” was posed to Alexander the Great during his campaign in India. Historical accounts detail Alexander’s request to meet with yogis, or wise men, whom the Greeks had previously heard described. He posed a hundred questions, but only ten were recorded.
