Rescue workers have been providing extensive home fire safety advice since 2014. Smoke detectors are installed where necessary. A review of home advice conducted over the past five years by the South Central Regional Emergency Management Centre indicates a heightened risk of house fires at the start of the heating season.

The review found that in every fourth home in Estonia, there are still issues with smoke detectors. Faulty electrical installations and solid fuel heating systems also present significant concerns within Estonian homes.
