The Tartu team secured first place at an invasion sport boccia tournament held in Võru, Southern Estonia, on December 6, 2023. The competition, featuring teams from across the Baltics, saw the Tartu team comprised of Peeter Zirk, Indrek Veski, and Piia Jürgenson take the top place. The Ummamuudu team finished second, and the Nikolai team secured third place.

Boccia is a precision ball game played by individuals with physical disabilities, including those paralyzed, who compete at the international level. Originally developed for people with cerebral palsy, the sport is now accessible to anyone experiencing motor skill challenges and has been a part of Paralympic sports since 1984.
