According to police reports to BBN, individuals exceeding the legal blood alcohol content limit, which ranges from 0.2 to 1.49 per mil, face traffic offenses punishable by fines up to €1,200, potential detention for up to 30 days, or license confiscation for up to one year. Drivers found to be under the influence of drugs or exceeding a blood alcohol content of 1.5 per mil may face criminal charges, including fines of up to €300 or imprisonment for up to three years, alongside vehicle confiscation as part of the sentence.
