26-year-old Sarah Bohan paused her run during the Chicago marathon when she observed something furry and fluffy on the road. Bohan, a participant in the event, stopped her race after noticing a small, white cat. The cat, estimated to weigh around one kilogram, appeared distressed and alone.

Despite being on track to set a personal record, Bohan prioritized the animal’s well-being, taking the cat into her arms and halting her progress. She and her co-runner, Gia Nigro, then walked alongside the marathon route for approximately one kilometer to locate a suitable new home for the feline. They successfully facilitated the cat’s adoption into a loving environment.

Later in the marathon, Bohan and Nigro assisted another runner who had fallen.
