Eesti Energia apologized to customers after sending a letter to 21,000 individuals containing inaccurate information. The company stated that a human error resulted in the distribution of a letter that may have been in a different language and indicated an incorrect expiration date for fixed-price contracts. All affected customers will receive a new letter with correct information in their chosen language as soon as possible.

Eesti Energia affirmed that it does not terminate fixed-price packages early and unilaterally. Board member Agnes Roos expressed sincere apologies for the error, stating that it was a human mistake and that the company will take steps to prevent similar occurrences. The issue involved customers of the “Trust” package, who received the letter related to universal service.

The incorrect expiration date and potential misinterpretation of the language – with some customers receiving a Russian letter instead of an Estonian one – were the result of the error.
