Finnair is conducting an internal investigation following allegations that one of its departments hired summer workers based on their chest size and that the practice was considered humorous by male employees. The claim surfaced after a photograph was taken at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on May 18, 2020, depicting a Finnair employee leading passengers. The airline confirmed that a department had hired female summer workers using this criteria, and that the behavior was deemed degrading towards women.

“Misogynia is deeply ingrained throughout the airline,” stated Jori Eskolin, Finnair’s former development director. The investigation is ongoing, focusing on the hiring process and the alleged inappropriate conduct of Finnair workers.
