Deputy Mayor Tanneel Kijek of Tallinn has announced her departure from the position and return to the Riigikogu, Estonia’s parliament. The Centre Party member, who received 2,070 votes in the recent elections, made the announcement on Facebook. Kijek stated that she had considered contributing to the development of life in Estonia as deputy mayor, responsible for urban property and transport, alongside fulfilling her mandate in the Riigikogu. She explained that her decision was influenced by significant changes in the political landscape over the past six months and consultations with colleagues. Kijek intends to contribute to the work of the Centre Party faction in the parliament and assist in the role of opposition leader. She believes her expertise in social and healthcare areas can be a constructive partnership for the forming government coalition. Kijek assumed the role of deputy mayor at the beginning of September last year, with an initial plan to remain in the position until the next local elections. “I have decided in favor of the parliament,” she said. “I also received confirmation that professional people are working in the Tallinn city system who are trying to improve the living environment in the capital and improve the welfare of city residents. Thank you all for your cooperation and trust!” Topics: #deputy #mayor #tanneel Post navigation PHOTO: A large ship was rolled over on its side at a shipyard in Edinburgh Cameron Diaz’s return will be short-lived due to the scandal on the set
