The Armed Forces are conducting the first intelligence competition of its kind, running from Friday to Sunday. The event, held for the first time since the beginning of the week, will take place across a 80-kilometer area between Valga and Tartu, involving teams navigating forests and settlements while completing military tasks. Teams will operate under cover for three days, utilizing limited imitation equipment and avoiding contact with other teams and counter-measures.

The competition commences at the Metsniku shooting range near Valgamaa and concludes on Sunday at the Tartu Raadi barracks. Separately, Otepää vald has contracted Sotsiaaltransport to provide social transport services to residents since March. The service is targeted at individuals with disabilities within the vald who have been assessed by local government officials and requires prior approval from a social worker.

This service differs from other similar services provided within Otepää vald, as it is not funded by the local government. Additionally, Otepää vald has replaced 292 outdated streetlights along several key routes. The project, managed by Lea Ruuven, involved replacing lights on the Lipuväljak to Mäe intersection, the Tatra-Otepää-Sangaste road from Tehvandi stadium to Väike Munamägi, the Sihva-Kääriku road, the Pühajärve spa and recreation center, the Pühajärve road, and the highway.

The work was carried out by OÜ Kagu Elekter. The new lamps, utilizing 10-20W of power, are expected to deliver significant energy savings and improved lighting quality.
