The Postimees Estonia Police seized eight drivers last night who were found to be under the influence of alcohol. According to police reports to BNS, all drivers had consumed alcohol above the legal limit, which ranges from 0.2 to 1.49 percent. Individuals found driving with alcohol above this limit can face a traffic offense carrying a fine of up to 1,200 euros, a prison sentence of up to 30 days, or the confiscation of their driving license for up to one year. In cases where drivers are under the influence of drugs or exceed the 1.5 percent alcohol limit, the court can impose a criminal offense, potentially resulting in a fine of up to 300 euros or a prison sentence of up to three years, alongside the confiscation of the vehicle used in the commission of the crime.
