American skier Jessie Diggins expressed enthusiasm for Tallinn following her overall victory in the World Cup skiing series. Diggins, 31, finished 18th in the sprint race held in the city on the evening of the event. She posted on Facebook, stating, “The USA women’s team thanks Tallinn!

Your city was fun to discover and the evening sprint had an electric atmosphere.”

This was not Diggins’ first visit to Tallinn; she previously visited when she was 17. She commented to Iltalehti that it was “very cool that the city sprint was brought here” and that she “visited Tallinn last time when I was 17. It was very cool to see the old town.

This is a beautiful place.”

Prior to the final two individual World Cup races – the Lahti skiing sprint and the 20 km classic technique relay – Diggins trails Norwegian skier Tiril Udnes Weng by 110 points.
