The Competition Authority has approved the acquisition of AS Prisma Peremarket and its 13 stores in Estonia by Coop. The owner change is scheduled for the end of August, followed by a phased transition of the Prisma stores under the Coop umbrella beginning in September and concluding by the end of the year. The approval grants Coop Eesti Keskühistu and the Finnish joint retail group SOK the necessary authorization for the transaction.

With this acquisition, Coop aims to expand its market share. The company has stated that the integration will ensure significant continuity for both the employees and customers of Prisma, while also introducing new product offerings. The transfer of the stores and employees to Coop’s management is planned to be completed within the current calendar year.

This strategic move allows Coop to integrate the substantial network of Prisma into its existing operations. The transition process is structured to manage the shift smoothly, ensuring minimal disruption for the customer base while solidifying Coop’s position within the Estonian retail market.
