Hardi Volmer has stated in a photograph archive that the national song and dance orchestra, Singer Vinger, received its name from an old poem by Karl Eduard Söödi. Volmer explained that the inspiration came when, as he recounted, “we took a cask of wine and started thinking.” He recalled that Söödi’s poem actually contained the phrase “Singel-vingel,” which he likened to a child who has not yet learned the ‘r’ sound clearly. Upon hearing Volmer speak to himself, Juku-Kalle Raid reportedly responded with, “Happy birthday to the old fool! Now, the orchestra is flowing from the kitchen with wine and glasses!” Topics: #juku #kalle #volmer Post navigation Revolutsioon Oscaritel: uued reeglid raputavad kogu filmitööstust Venemaa naasmine rahvusvahelisele spordiareenile ärritab Ukrainat
