Tartu Courthouse Remains Without Caterer Following Extensive Renovation

The Tartu courthouse, which underwent a comprehensive renovation last autumn, remains without a caterer as of today. Despite the completion of the building’s extensive refurbishment, no external provider has been appointed to supply food services. Following the renovation’s conclusion, the Estonian state established specific criteria for the selection of a caterer.

A contract was mandated to be finalized by the start of January. However, the courthouse’s kitchen and dining facilities remain unoccupied. Officials have indicated that the delay stems from ongoing logistical processes associated with securing a suitable vendor and finalizing the contract terms.

The state had outlined detailed requirements for the future caterer, including operational standards and service specifications. Currently, the courthouse continues to operate without a dedicated food service. The building is still renovated, and the absence of a caterer highlights a continuing logistical challenge.

Further updates are expected as the final arrangements are made. [Photo: Margus Ansu]
