The 7th Corps is currently responsible for defending this sector of the Ukrainian front. Recent operations have seen Ukrainian forces successfully halt the advance of Russian forces in the Pokrovski direction. Over the past several months, Russian units had been averaging approximately one kilometer of progress within this area, incurring significant casualties. Following the capture of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces have largely stabilized the situation and stemmed the Russian advance. These exercises are intended to refine the combat readiness and coordination of the Ukrainian corps as they continue to defend against ongoing operations in the Pokrovski direction.
