Norwegian Ski Team Announces New Sports Director Following Resignation

Milan – The Norwegian Ski Federation has appointed Lars Mæland as the new sports director for the national ski team following the resignation of Per Arne Botnani. The announcement was made by the federation. Botnani had previously held the role before stepping down.

Mæland’s appointment marks a shift in leadership for the Norwegian team, aiming to build upon the nation’s established success in cross-country skiing. Mæland brings a wealth of experience to the position. Prior to his appointment, he served as a development director at Olympiatoppen, the Norwegian center for the development of top sports.

He also accumulated five years of coaching experience with the Norwegian ski mountaineering team. The federation stated that Mæland’s background aligns with their strategic goals for the ski program, emphasizing a focus on athlete development and performance optimization. This change reflects a proactive approach to ensuring the continued competitiveness of the Norwegian national ski team on the international stage.
