Jüri Ratas: I do not doubt that Sannemar can dance as well as successfully lead the country

Centre Party Chairman Jüri Ratas responded to criticism from Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, asserting that a politician should be capable of managing multiple responsibilities. Kallas questioned Ratas’s focus on pressing issues, including the energy crisis, suggesting he dedicate time to a dance show. “One is dealing with whether the dance turn comes out well enough and the other has to deal with the war, the energy crisis, inflation, helping people,” Kallas stated.

Ratas countered in a social media post, arguing that a politician should be able to address diverse areas simultaneously. “I have always considered it important that a person should be able to deal with many areas and focus, especially a politician and, inevitably, a prime minister,” Ratas wrote. He expressed confidence in Prime Minister Sanna Marin’s ability to both dance and effectively manage Finland.

Ratas further offered assistance in addressing the energy crisis and rising prices. “The Centre Party is always ready to help, offering specific measures again and explaining to the Reform Party why it is necessary to help the people and companies in Estonia at the present time,” Ratas noted, suggesting measures such as increasing the emergency pension by 50 euros and lowering fuel and food taxes.
