The Narva City Council voted Wednesday by a majority to discontinue efforts to challenge state orders concerning the removal of the red monument. Chairman of the City Council, Žavoronkov, stated yesterday during a visit with the Prime Minister that the city’s preference would be to pursue legal action against the state regarding the relocation of monuments. The decision follows orders issued by the head of the republic’s government and the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA).
