Lithuania plans to apply zero VAT to heating for two seasons. The Ministry of Finance of Lithuania proposes to maintain zero VAT on heating for two more heating seasons. The total impact on the state budget due to this measure is estimated at approximately 110 million euros. “Based on market analysis and current prices, this proposal is made for two more heating seasons, which will apply from October of this year until April 30, 2023, and for the next heating season,” Finance Minister Gintarė Skaistė said during a press conference on Wednesday. The government previously compensated for the nine-percent VAT tax rebate during the prior heating season, a decision implemented later than the start of the heating period.
