New York – A young fox arrived in New York City recently, traveling secretly aboard a cargo ship from England. The animal, discovered by the ship’s crew, is now under observation at the Bronx Zoo. The fox traveled from Southampton, England, to New York via a vessel carrying automobiles.

The ship departed on February 4th and completed its journey to the New York–New Jersey port on February 18th, a period of 14 days. During the voyage, the crew of the ship identified the fox, which had been concealed within the cargo hold. Following its discovery, the animal was transferred to the Bronx Zoo for evaluation.

Initial assessments by zoo officials indicate the fox is currently in good health. This unexpected arrival highlights the complexities of international shipping. Authorities were alerted to the fox’s presence, and the animal was safely transferred to the Bronx Zoo for further study and care.
