Glasgow Station Hit by Major Fire, Train Services Suspended

A significant fire has severely impacted operations at Glasgow’s main railway station following a blaze that engulfed the Union Corner building adjacent to the station. The fire, which originated in a liquor store within the building, rapidly escalated and spread to the historic structure. Firefighters are currently working to contain and extinguish the fire within the Union Corner building.

As of late Sunday night, the building has partially collapsed. The incident has resulted in the complete cessation of all train traffic through the station. ScotRail has announced the indefinite suspension of services until at least the end of Monday.

National Rail officials have stated that the reopening of the station remains uncertain, and there is currently no estimated timeframe for resumption of services. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Emergency services are managing the scene and working to ensure public safety.
