Last week saw multiple attempts to steal from food stores and construction sites. One incident involved a customer in Central Estonia who required security staff to detain a client accompanied by two individuals who had bypassed the cash register without payment. The merchandise was returned undamaged, and the total purchase amount is being determined through video recordings, according to Reiko Tääker, head of the management center. She noted that video recordings are crucial in these situations, as they often reveal the full extent of the theft. Another incident occurred in Rakvere, where a security guard needed police assistance in detaining a customer who attempted to steal barbed wire from a store’s garbage container. “This demonstrates a thief’s persistence, even after apprehension,” stated G4S Estonia head of the management center Reiko Tääker. “Quick reaction is vital to prevent damage.” The situation highlights that the customer remains the main character.
