EDITORIAL ⟩ The newspaper is not the fourth member of the ruling coalition

The Saaremaa municipal council held an extraordinary session on March 5th. The collapse of the coalition was due to political decisions, not technical malfunctions. Recent events involving Saaremaa county government over the past month resemble a classical political crisis.

A minor disagreement escalated into a vote of no confidence, which then became a public conflict, ultimately resulting in a new coalition forming. It is common in politics for politicians to attempt to share responsibility among themselves, including those tasked with reporting on the proceedings. It is unusual, however, when politicians attempt to distribute responsibility among those responsible for reporting on the events.
