Tormis Laine did not reach the top 30 in the slalom at the ongoing Alpine Skiing World Cup event in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The Estonian skier finished 49th after Saturday’s competition. Laine, who began the day 67th among 72 starters, faced a particularly challenging course. He ultimately finished with a time 3.64 seconds behind the winner, Atle Lie McGrath. To have secured a place in the top 30, Laine would have needed to be approximately 20 hundredths of a second faster than McGrath. Fifty-two competitors completed the slalom. Laine has two remaining World Cup events this season.
