Kristin Kuuba advanced to the quarterfinal of the International Series tournament in Portugal on Friday. In the opening round, Kuuba defeated Vlada Ginga of Romania 11:21, 21:15, 21:19.

Subsequently, she overcame Azkya Aliefa Ruhanda of Switzerland 21:16, 16:21, 21:18. Kuuba’s quarterfinal match against Juliana Viana Vieira, the top-seeded Brazilian and current Pan American champion (BWF 68), resulted in a 16:21, 12:21 loss. The tournament took place in Portugal.
