Eighteen-year-old Daniil Karakulin died in a traffic accident in Harjumaa in December 2024. The accident was caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol. Prior to his death, Karakulin had completed his Estonian language studies, planned to marry his girlfriend, and had significant plans for his future. The family was shocked when, in February of the same year, authorities announced the conclusion of a criminal investigation, stating that it was impossible to identify a culpable party in Karakulin’s death.
