It will rain for a few hours in many places in Latvia

Wednesday will feature slightly rainy conditions in many places across Latvia, according to forecasts from the Latvian Meteorological Centre (LVĢMC). The temperature across the country varied from +3.7 degrees Celsius in Rucava to +14.9 degrees Celsius in Ventspils and Zvejniekciems at 5 a.m. Kolkata recorded a high of +15.6 degrees at 4 a.m.

Cloud cover is partially covering Latvia, with brief rain expected primarily in Vidzeme. Rain clouds are predicted to move southward. Winds will be slow to moderate from the west and southwest.

In Riga, cloud cover will increase, and the wind will blow from the west and southwest. The air temperature will reach a maximum of +13 to +17 degrees Celsius, with the southwestern part of the country potentially reaching +19 degrees. By evening, the wind will shift to the northwest, blowing slowly to moderately.

Riga is forecast to experience a rather cloudy day with a possible brief rainfall, with an air temperature of +16 degrees Celsius. The weather conditions are influenced by a high-pressure area and a moving atmospheric front. The LVĢMC has issued a Yellow Level warning due to high fire danger in forests, with the atmospheric pressure at sea level in the southeastern part of the country being a key factor.

Maximum air temperatures on Tuesday ranged from +12.4 degrees Celsius in Alūksne to +17.0 degrees Celsius in Rucava. The highest air temperature in Europe on September 6 was +36 to +37 degrees Celsius in Spain and the Mediterranean islands. The lowest air temperature at night on Wednesday is expected to be -4 degrees Celsius in the Scandinavian mountains.
