Kristel Kõiv, a 31-year-old mother of three, achieved her fastest marathon times since the beginning of the summer without realizing her body was harboring a serious health issue. Following an unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer, she faced significant challenges, but has completed chemotherapy and a major surgery and is now preparing for a marathon in May. Kõiv’s story began approximately a year and a half prior to the diagnosis.

After discovering a piece of breast tissue, she promptly sought a medical evaluation. Initial tests indicated the tissue was benign, classified as extra glandular tissue. However, when a new piece of tissue appeared last summer, Kõiv acted on her instincts.
