♪ Listen 0:00 Approximately 60 graves were discovered on the territory of the future professional secondary school of Colonel Oskars Kalpaks in Rudbārži. Initial estimates of the number of individuals buried there were revised following the exhumation of remains previously identified as Soviet soldiers. The remains were subsequently relocated to the larger Soviet soldiers’ graves in Nīkrāce. One phase of the exhumation process, involving the removal of soldiers from Rudbārži, has now been concluded. The exhumation revealed a number of previously unknown remains.
