Teachers who moved from Ida-Virumaa are successfully establishing themselves in Estonian-speaking regions. The Pärnu Postimees recently visited Narva and Sillamäe to document the experiences of educators who have relocated from their original home region. Anu Alloja, a teacher at the Narva Language School’s 2nd grade Natural Science class, came to work in Narva three years ago after previously working in Pärnu.

The initiative highlights the adaptation of teachers who moved to these predominantly Russian-speaking cities and assesses the progress of Estonian language education within the area.

  2. What factors are contributing to the success of these teachers in adapting to life and work in new regions?
