The February Revolution began in Russia following a series of events initiated by workers demanding increased wages. On February 23rd, employees of the Putilov factories in St. Petersburg produced a locomotive in response to their demands.

The following day, demonstrations erupted, quickly spreading throughout the nation. Protests occurred in numerous locations, including Irkutsk, Siberia, as depicted in this photograph. The February revolution rapidly gained momentum and encompassed the entire country.
