In August 1995, students from Orissaare secondary school accompanied President Lennart Meri on a visit aboard the sailing ship Aurelia. The Aurelia transported the President and his entourage from Orissaare to Koguva, and has since been permanently located within the Koguva port territory. A photograph from the Saarte Häele Arhiiv, Mati Oolup, depicts the event. Efforts to restore maritime education at Orissaare secondary school have been ongoing, but to date, no definitive solutions have been established. The initiative was not successful in achieving a concrete outcome.
