Academician and Professor of Plant Ecology at Tartu University Martin Zobel has been recognized for his contributions to ecology science in Estonia. The government announced the laureates of the state’s scientific prizes, with Martin Zobel receiving the lifetime achievement prize of 65,000 euros for his long-term research and development work. Joining Zobel in receiving awards were Martti Raidal, Mario Kadastik, and Kristjan Kannike, each of whom received a 50,000 euro prize. Additionally, eight 20,000 euro prizes and a 50,000 euro prize for outstanding discovery were presented. The recognition highlights the importance of science within the state.
