The red flag is flying at swimming spots along the Emajõgi and Verevi beach due to dangerously abundant enterococci levels. According to Argo Raag, manager of the G4S South region service, samples taken last week and on Friday were sent to the environmental research center and contained higher levels of enterococci than normal. Raag stated that the bacterium originates from intestinal sources, advising against swimming in the affected areas.
