A palliative medicine doctor is on trial in Berlin for the intentional murder of 15 patients. The doctor administered a “deadly cocktail” of medical drugs, according to prosecutors. The trial began on July 16, 2025, and is expected to last until January 2026, with approximately 150 witnesses anticipated to testify.

The lawsuit was filed by the relatives of 13 deceased patients. The defendant’s name is being withheld in accordance with German law. The indictment alleges that the doctor intentionally administered a deadly cocktail of medical drugs to his patients, resulting in their deaths.

Prosecutors claim that at least 12 women and three men were killed between September 2021 and July 2024. Some victims may remain unidentified. The investigation revealed that the doctor made injections of anesthetic and myorelaxant without the patients’ consent, causing “paralyzed the respiratory muscles, leading to asphyxia and death within minutes.” Furthermore, evidence suggests the doctor set fire to some of the victims’ homes to conceal evidence.
