Estonia’s Defense Forces Deputy Commander Major General Rõno Sirkk has resigned from military service after 32 years of service in the forces. The resignation is based on personal grounds, according to a report by Rus.ERR. The Deputy Commander position was held since August 1, 2024.

Prior to this, Sirkk served as the Military Representative of Estonia at the Supreme Headquarters of the NATO Combined Forces in Europe (SHAPE), Commander of the Air Force, and Director of the Center for State Defense Investments. He was recognized as Officer of the Year in 2014. The Defense Forces General Staff reports that a new Deputy Commander will be appointed soon.
