The Estonian Environment Agency’s specialists conducted fieldwork in the Nigula nature reserve in Southern Pärnumaa, resulting in the discovery of several trees exceeding 40 meters in height. Forest department head Tarmo Tolm of the Estonian Environment Agency utilized an electronic height meter from Haglöf to measure the trees. A forest height map was employed to determine the trees’ height and assess their potential as a new Estonian record.
