Piret Kuusk, a pensioner residing on Koidula street in Tähtvere, owns a property with a plot of land measuring 1,627 square meters. The house, constructed in the early 1950s by her father, is her primary residence. Previously, Piret Kuusk paid a symbolic land tax of 50 euros to the city of Tartu.

However, under the new tax system, her land tax has increased significantly, currently reaching hundreds of euros. Projections indicate that this tax will rise to nearly 2,000 euros by 2028.
