Eighty-four-year-old Mai Palo, a former seller and owner of bookstores in Viljandi, passed away following recognition of her lifetime achievements. Palo spent nearly 50 years operating businesses in the town, and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Viljandi last year. The President presented her with a state decoration to honor her contributions. A photograph of Palo was taken in the midst of the bookshelves where she spent much of her life.
