Medical professionals initially estimated a recovery period of two to a year, however, he was discharged from the hospital just one month later. “It was a surprise to me that I could get up so quickly,” Taimo Toomast shared. “The motivation came from physiotherapists and the thought of going home.” The successful transplant was described as a “great miracle” by Taimo Toomast, as suitable donor lungs are rare. Following the surgery, Vilja Toomast expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. “I want to work in the parliament and then I’ll see what I can do. After that I want to relax and enjoy life,” she stated, outlining her future goals.
