Viljandi Offers Diverse Weekend Events and Exhibitions

Viljandi will host a variety of events and exhibitions throughout the weekend, March 19th through March 25th. The Viljandi Castle Theatre will present performances including “Sneakers: The Last Wish,” “Kaka, Spring and Other,” “Detective Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow,” “Summer Walkers,” “Vetelkõndija,” “Centrum Cinema,” “Sneakers: The Wrath of the Gods,” “The Scream VI,” and others. Additionally, several exhibitions will be open to the public.

The Kondase Centre at Tallinn Street 22 will feature original graphics by Katri Smiti (“Krigale-kurr/Viljandi”), Allar Taela (“Suuga teeb suure linna, käega ei kärbsepesagi”), and Maris Siimeri (“Põhiosa soontes”), alongside a sculpture collection. The Pikk Street 8 location will host the Karksi-Nuia Cultural Centre’s blue hall, displaying “The Estonian press photo 2021.”

The Viljandi Museum at Johan Laidoneri Square 10 will present “Villem Ormisson. Colours and Viljandi” in honor of the artist’s 130th birthday until March 1st.

The Viljandi City Library at Tallinn Street 11/11 will feature Bàlint Pörneczi’s “Figuràk,” while the Rügi Gallery Art Allmägi and Katrin Piile exhibition, “The Best Times …,” will be located at Tartu Street 7c. “The Way of the Song Festival through the Ages” photo exhibition will be displayed in Viljandi Liberty Square. Finally, the Viiratsi handicraft circles exhibition will be open during the Ramsi Library’s operating hours at Ramsi 5.

These events are part of the diverse range of activities available in Viljandi.
