The Järva County Health Department announced today that positive samples were detected in all municipalities within the county. On August 6th, a total of seven positive samples were identified, with three originating from Paide, three from Türi, and one from the Järva district. The infection rate per 100,000 population for the last seven days was 86 in Järva County, 44 in Paide, 76 in Türi, and 129 in the Järva district.

As of the end of the day, 27,136 tests had been conducted, with 58 tests performed in the last 24 hours. To date, 1,784 cases of infection have been registered in the county, with an estimated 38 cases among individuals who were unvaccinated. Of the infected, 12 individuals have completed their vaccination course, representing 21.2% of the infected population.

Unvaccinated individuals comprised 94.9% of all test subjects. During the last day, 5,407 vaccinations were administered, bringing the total vaccinations completed to 657,902, with 574,814 individuals having finished their vaccination course. Vaccination coverage among adults is currently at 58.8%.

The highest number of new positive test results were reported in Harjumaa, where 94 people tested positive, followed by 68 new cases in Tallinn. Additional positive results were identified in Tartu County (35), Võrumaa (26), Pärnu County (22), Lääne-Viru County (8), Järva- and Ida-Viru County (7), Põlva County (6), and in Lääne-, Valga and Viljandi counties (5). Rapla County reported 3 new cases, Saaremaa 2, and Jõgevamaa 1.

No new cases were identified in Hiiumaa. Fifteen cases involved missing population registration addresses. At the morning of August 6th, 48 patients were hospitalized due to COVID-19, with 48 in intensive care and 3 on ventilators.

One additional death related to coronavirus infection was reported – an 81-year-old unvaccinated male. A total of 1,277 people have died of coronavirus infection in Estonia. Estonia has administered 657,902 COVID-19 vaccinations to date.
